Honey Walnut Prawns – Perfect Recipe For Weekends

One of the things I love about the weekend is spending more time with my husband, especially eating together during the day which we couldn’t do during the week because we are both busy or at work. Whenever one of us was craving a particular dish from a favorite restaurant, we would hold up until the weekend so we both can have it.

There were some days when we both would like to have dim sum for brunch, and we know exactly where to go for that. Having the knowledge of where to get the best dim sum in town can be exciting, but you have to beat the crowd so you can get a table. The wait can be too long for others but my husband and I didn’t mind, since we know the food is going to be worth our time.

The minute we got seated, I would look over to the ladies pushing the dim sum carts and point on our favorites: pork and shrimp shu mai, BBQ pork steamed buns, and shrimp cakes, and if we get lucky we can also have the honey walnut prawns which are very popular. The first time I had it, I remember loving it so much that I wanted to have honey walnut prawns every time we go there for brunch. There were days when they didn’t have it on their cart and I would feel really disappointed then. If only it dawned on me before that I could make this yummy Chinese dish at home, I wouldn’t feel so deprived of it back then.

This recipe is really simple and budget-friendly, I only spent less than $10 for this dish and it only took me less than 20 minutes to make it, plus it is packed with flavors too! I passed the taste test when I served this dish to my husband for dinner and all he could say was “Oh! my God, this is so good!” I felt like a rock star.
